Fans continued to speak on the controversy last week surrounding photos surfacing from Conor McGregor’s camp following the sparring sessions with former two-division champion Paul Malignaggi.

Dana White released the following video from the camp at the UFC Performance Institute.

The video shows McGregor and Malignaggi in an exchange before McGregor landing a jab-cross combination to stagger Malignaggi. McGregor follows up using his left hand to force down the head of Malignaggi while throwing two short right hooks before Malignaggi falls to the canvas. Malignaggi immediately stands back up, while referee Joe Cortez seems to step in to the altercation. White also released the following 15-second clip from the McGregor vs. Malignaggi sparring session.

Malignaggi was quick to respond on social media.

Malignaggi is still teasing a possible return due to the bad blood with McGregor and his camp.

Former IBO welterweight champion Chris van Heerden blasted McGregor’s camp in July 2016 following edited footage from his sparring session with McGregor being revealed online.

van Heerden responded by posting his own compilation of sparring McGregor, which showed he was controlling the pace as well.

With combat sports having training camps solely focused on an individuality of a fighter, there is an unwritten code about leaking footage and information about fighters in camp as, “what goes on in the training room, stays in the training room.” However, this does open up the possibility of McGregor taking on Malignaggi in the future, as Patrick Cummins stepped away as a barista taking on former Olympic wrestling training partner Daniel Cormier.
