Karate1 Premier League Almere Set for Feb. 14-15

The Lotto Dutch Open – Karate1 Premier League Almere will be held in Topsportcentrum Almere on 14th and 15th February 2015. The Almere Open is the second Open tournament of this season. This year however will be remarkable, both in terms of quantity of registered athletes and in terms of outstanding level of the participants.

The counter of participating countries is impressive with 613 competitors registered from 51 countries, among which the top Karatekas of the world.

At this major event, taking place less than one month before the European Senior Championships (qualifying athletes for the first European Games in Baku next June), all the male and female karate’s of the best national team will be on the tatamis, like Netherlands, France, Azerbaijan, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Serbia, Ukraine, Turkey… and other national teams from all over the world.

Many of world top athletes, such as Geoffrey Berens (Netherlands), Sandy Scordo (France), Serap Ozcelik (Turkey), Alexandra Recchia (France), Jelena Kovacevic (Croatia), Ilja Smorguner (Germany), Enes Erkan (Turkey), Shahin Atamov (Azerbaijan), Rafael Aghayev (Azerbaijan) and also a number of world medalists will also be present.

All those competitors are ready to propose a competition of an outstanding level. The most contested categories will be Kata individual male with 84 athletes from 26 nations and kumite male -67kg with 76 fighters from 36 nations.
